Xeomin®, a neurotoxin, is a prescription medication made through a unique process called XTRACT Technology. This state-of-the-art system uses a double filtration process that isolates the helpful component of the toxin while removing unnecessary proteins.
Xeomin® is generally considered safe when administered by a qualified healthcare professional. Like other toxin treatments, Xeomin®’s most common side effects are temporary, including mild bruising, swelling, and redness at the injection site.
To prepare for your Xeomin® treatment, avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications for several days before your appointment.
During the procedure, your healthcare provider will use a very fine needle to inject Xeomin® into the targeted muscles. The injections usually take about 10-20 minutes to complete, and you should be able to resume your normal activities immediately afterward.
